Coconut Fibre — common questions
Is coconut fibre the same as coco coir?
Yes. Coconut fibre, coco fibre and coco coir all refer to the fibrous material from the coconut husk. We use the washed, screened fibre grade suited to reptile and terrarium use.
Should I choose bricks or loose bags?
Compressed bricks are the most freight- and shelf-efficient and expand about seven to nine times once hydrated. Loose bags are pre-hydrated and ready to use straight from the bag — ideal where end-customer convenience matters.
Which animals is coconut fibre best for?
Tropical, humidity-dependent species — crested and day geckos, chameleons and tree frogs — where the substrate needs to hold moisture and release humidity steadily.
